Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. (/ ˈ dʒ ɛər ə l d / JE -ruld; born Leslie Lynch King Jr.; July 14, 1913 – December 26, 2006) was an American politician and attorney who was the 38th president of the United States from 1974 to 1977. Ford previously served as the 40th vice president of the United States from 1973 to 1974. Ford is the only person to have served as both vice president. Gerald Ford has been buying distressed banks and turning them around since 1975, when he bought his first bank. His first big success was in 2002, when he and his billionaire friend Ronald.
